ISO–Accredited Calibration Certification

•  Our highest calibration service, ISO level calibrations are performed to meet ISO8655:2002 standards in our environmentally controlled laboratory. Following 'As Found' measurement testing, pipettes undergo complete inspection and a detailed refurbishing and preventative maintenance, then are calibrated to manufacturer's specifications unless otherwise requested

   

•  Calibration certificates include our ISO/IEC17025:2005 accreditation logo, ‘As Found’ (10 results each at up to 3 volumes) and ‘As Left’ (10 results each at up to 3 volumes) calibration data, environmental lab conditions, any repairs made, parts replaced or corrective actions taken.

   

•  Model tolerances are provided with a calculated ‘PASS/FAIL’ result at each test volume.

   

   Level 4 Calibration Certification

They are performed to meet most of the ISO8655:2002 standards in our environmentally controlled laboratory and offered with our signature next-day turn around. TTE Laboratories' Level 3 calibrations meet most laboratories' cGMP/GLP regulatory compliance standards.

Level 2 Calibration Certification

 Calibrations are performed to most ISO8655:2002 standards in an environmentally controlled laboratory.

•  Pipettes undergo complete inspection and a detailed refurbishing and preventative maintenance, then are calibrated to manufacturer's specifications unless otherwise requested.

   

•  Calibration certificates include only ‘As Left’ (4 results each at up to 3 volumes) calibration data, environmental lab conditions, any repairs made, parts replaced or corrective actions taken.

   

•  Model tolerances are provided with a calculated ‘PASS/FAIL’ result at each test volume.

    
  

Level 1 Calibration Certification

   Level 1 calibrations are designed for academic or commercial research laboratories performing the most basic scientific development. Yet, even at this level, pipette performance is critical for repeatability and cost containment. Level 1 calibration service is performed to most of the ISO8655:2002 standards,  from our environmentally controlled laboratory. If you are ready to move up from the substandard and invalid services of travelling onsite services providers, a TTE Laboratories pipette calibration will ensure a standardized process for providing reliable pipette performance, all with our signature next-day turn around

  Level 1 calibration certificates provide a list of all pipettes in the service batch and any parts required during service. On the certificate there is a statement of compliance, but no measurement is available with the Level 1 option

DNA Decontamination Service

Pipette Decontamination needs addressing where pipettes are used with dangerous, corrosive or biological materials. The photo below shows two pistons from a Gilson Pipetman which are both corroded and have blood contamination. This cannot be seen when a pipette is being used and care must therefore be taken in these procedures. In this case blood has been aspirated up the tip cone and therefore this will also be contaminated. The corrosion is due to use of an acid that produced a corrosive vapour.

These pipetting situations would benefit from use of tip cone filters. In these situations follow the manufacturers advice, but most will recommend that for biological material the mechanical parts are at least subjected to full immersion in a non-corrosive disinfectant. How long depends on the "load" of contamination, some which may need removing manually using gloves and suitable cleaning agents and tools prior to further decontamination. Autoclaving may well be necessary prior to any action if the contaminants are transferable or potentially dangerous. Service and repair companies will invariably ask for pipettes to be decontaminated prior to being serviced or calibrated as part if their Health & Safety protocols.
