Low Retention pipet tips are specifically designed for applications
requiring high accuracy and reproducibility.
The systematic loss of sample contributes greatly to variability
in complex reactions such as PCR, RT PCR,
and DNA sequencing. Pipetting viscous liquids also creates pipetting
problems due to the inability to expel
fluid because of surface adhesion between the liquid and the inside
of the pipet tip. This fluid retention is
problematic because significant amounts of residual liquid typically
remain in the pipet tip after the operation
is completed.
Low Retention pipet tips reduce sample retention up to fivefold
when compared to a standard pipet tip. This
new polymer technology makes the inner surface of the pipet tip
more hydrophobic, resulting in a significant
reduction in sample loss due to adhesion, and improved liquid
handling.
